I have not used a dyson before and was quite put off by the cost. When my Panasonic packed up only after 3 years of ordinary household use, I made a decision it was time to fork out the additional nickels.

It can reach lower than the DC fourteen, and appears simpler to manoeuvre round the floor.

I could not wait to try it out as quickly as I got home, and wow, it simply delivered what dyson said it might. I have ultimately managed to lift off six years of Bill's hair, and my girl stopped sneezing the 1st morning after her mattress had been vacuumed. On the down side, the dyson is definitely heavier and harder work for the arms, particularly after pulling the extension hose up the steps.

I was surprise to see the machine keeping quite stable at the base of the steps regardless of the consistent pull on the hose. So far I have been extraordinarily happy with this cleaner. This is my second Dyson - my prior model was the DC03 comprehensive - and I had been thinking about getting the DC14 when The Ball was launched.

I kind of did as much research as I could - there's lots of data available - as this is such a different idea for a vacuum. As far as cleaners go this model is on the heavy side ( not as heavy as a DC14 though ) and quite large. It could be a tiny clumsy to hold from one place to another, particularly upstairs. There's a push button facility, meaning the bottom simply opens and permits the dust to unpack out directly into your dustbin or a bag. ). It has fantastic rubber protection in some areas which protects walls and furniture from collision damage. It also picks up all those bits that other vacuums keep going over and leaving behind, for instance coco fathers (. ), and cleans right to the sides of floors - it's not critical to use the attachments as I used to have to do to pick up waste from the edges of the floors. We don't have pets but made a decision to purchase this model as it is better worth with the attachments included. As long as the weight of this vacuum isn't an issue this machine is to be strongly recommended.

I fundamentally spoke to a work co-worker and discussed I was going to buy one. Then he starts barking on about his 'Which magazine' review which related Dyson's are no good as they break down and aren't trustworthy. My better half & I had been having a look at the DC15 Animal not as we have any pets but I have allergies and she appears to shed hair like a dog any way.

I got the damn thing, turned it on and struggled simply to glide it over my carpet.

It has this fancy traffic light gadget on the steel arm so you can see that red = heaps of dust, amber = just about gone & green = no dust. Skip forward some days, I have returned the Miele and ordered the the DC15 Animal. I turn it on, and it starts whizzing away much quieter than the DC02 we had previous. What I like is the pedal that you press that releases the ball into action. Its so simple to glide around with a flick of the wrist you are changing direction, back-forward-left-right with ease and cleaning a room takes a matter of minutes I pull back all the settees and can see the carpet looks new as it is not been trod on but with a slight gray hint. My wife's hair and fine particles of dust enough to fill a massive tea cup.

This hoover is fantastic and I suspect if you look after it correctly instead of smashing into walls and settees carelessly that it'll last for ages & not break down. My only gripe is that I believed there was a huge difference between the Animal and the Allergy Model thanks to the mini turbine head. It isn't electrically powered rather it traps air in a little vacuum to push the brush-head, but I find if you press the carpet on your steps hard enough it stops spinning.

So instead I employ a smaller attachment to do the steps and tight spaces instead.

The dust is a doddle to get rid off, as is detaching it from the main body. You simply press a button and whilst holding the base within a bag it releases the base of the unit & just drops the dust within. If you try this with older models you can only clean so much as the handle is kind of long. The great thing is, you can tell a room has been vacuumed after using the Dyson and the air does appear cleaner as i do not sneeze so much, the Miele doesn't have a spinning brush to kick the waste out of the carpet pile either and it actually didn't seem like I had vacuumed. I must buy the Mattress Tool now and my other gripe is that for spending that much money they may have thrown it in.

And as I claimed before, Hoover and all the other firms that turned James Dyson away are kicking themselves now, so you never can tell where all these dodgy rumours are coming from.
